Virtual Consultations
Easier Access to Disability Grant Assessments
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), in partnership with the Department of Health, has revolutionized the medical assessment process for Disability Grants by introducing virtual consultations and streamlined procedures. This groundbreaking update addresses longstanding challenges faced by applicants with mobility issues, those in rural areas, and individuals with conditions that make travel difficult. The new system reduces average wait times from 6-8 weeks to just 2-3 weeks while maintaining the integrity and thoroughness of medical assessments.
